The Best Kitchen & Bathroom DIY Cleaning Scrub

In my home, I like to use all natural cleaners as much as I can. I do occasionally use bleach, but it’s not my favorite thing to use because it always gives me a headache. For over two years I’ve used the same recipe to make a floor and all-purpose cleaner. It contains:

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Dish Soap
  • White Vinegar
  • Distilled Water
  • Essential Oils

I really like this cleaner, it does a good job, and with the essential oils, it smells really great. In addition to this cleaner, I’ve really wanted to find a scrub type cleaner for sinks and the shower, but I haven’t had much luck until now. I stumbled upon an all natural recipe that uses three ingredients, plus the optional essential oils if you want. It contains:

  • Baking Soda
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Castile Soap
  • Lemon Essential Oil (optional)

I wasn’t sure how this was going to work, because sometimes homemade cleaners don’t work that well, but this blew me away! I first used it in my bathroom sink and then thought I would try it in my shower. It removed all the soap scum from my glass doors with minimal effort. It also made the handles completely shiny and new looking. I was never able to achieve that with other cleaners before. I was so excited that I immediately washed all my dishes just so I could scrub my sink. LOL. I think it’s a sign I’ve really hit adulthood when scrubbing a sink is something to be excited about.

The only thing I would do differently next time is stir all the ingredients in a bowl and then transfer it to a mason jar. I stirred everything in the mason jar and my hand began cramping so badly. With my batch, I decided to add lemon essential oil and it smelled so fresh and clean. This is definitely a recipe to keep!
